Getting Ready for Kindergarten!

Sandwich Public Schools and the Forestdale School are excited to welcome  parents to our Kindergarten Information Night on Wednesday, March 4^th in the multipurpose room of the Forestdale School.  The information session will run from 6:30 – 7:30 and will include a welcome from Dr. C. Richard Canfield, Superintendent of Schools, and  Forestdale School principal Marc J. Smith, along with an opportunity to meet most of our kindergarten teaching staff.

Parents will be provided with information regarding our kindergarten program and have an opportunity to ask questions.  In addition, we will talk a bit about some of the events we have planned for introducing kindergarten students and families to the Forestdale School over the course of this Spring and Summer.  Much work is being done with the support of our Reorganization Planning Team and the three existing PTA’s to plan monthly opportunities for students and families to come into the school and familiarize themselves with the staff and building.  The events planned include registration, screenings, a family fun night, a kindergarten readiness event, a practice bus ride and a kindergarten play date.  Dates and times are being finalized for all these events, and will be shared with parents following registration.
