Bringing Visions into Focus – Advisory roles for Families and Community Members

The Sandwich Public School team of Elementary Principals invite parents, staff and community members to join one of two advisory groups being formed to help launch the Oak Ridge Gr 3-6 and Forestdale PreK-2 Schools.

At staff meetings last week, all three of us presented the big ideas of two different advisory teams to our staffs. We also presented to the District PAC Parent Group.  We heard and considered feedback from them and are now ready with invitations to both teams.

On Wednesday, September 17th, we will be explaining the two teams at the School Committee meeting. We feel this is a great venue for getting the word out to folks who might watch the meetings on television.

The Collaborative Design Team is modeled on the teams already in place at SHS and the STEM Academy and represents a leadership team within each school.  The CDT is expected to be an on-going team within Forestdale and within Oak Ridge.

The Reorganization Planning Team is a team of staff, families, and community members who will form sub-committees to achieve certain goals that are part of the re-organization of our Elementary schools.
