Many members of the Sandwich Public Schools community participated in the 2014 girlygirl P.A.R.T.S. race at the Sandwich Boardwalk. The Race/Walk through Sandwich Village earned $110,000 for research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The Race Director, Trish Cundiff, is a member of the SPS Community as a parent, a volunteer and most recently, as a member of the SPS Pool Task Force.
All of the money collected goes to a particular researcher, Dr. Ursula A. Matulonis, who is working to develop a pre-screening tool for ovarian cancer. You can watch video of Dr. Matulonis describing her work here.
