Dr. Ellin Booras announced the 2015 Salutatorian and Valedictorian at the February 25, 2015 School Committee meeting with the following.
Alexander Denmark, Valedictorian
Alex exhibits a tenacity and a focus uncommon to adolescents and inspiring to all those privileged to know him and to support his unique zeal. As we have already heard tonight, Alex has made a bold commitment to social change. As his principal, it is humbling and exhilarating to know and to respect Alex, a young man of unparalleled caliber and unprecedented commitment to making a difference through raising awareness and prompting responsible change.
At Sandwich High School, students are frequently asked how they will create an echo. How will they leave an indelible impression on a school they love and the community they serve? Alex has been doing just that since he arrived as a freshman. Alex shines in a bright constellation of peers.
He is exceedingly bright, collaborative, communicative, and compelling in his ability to define a problem and to take action while earning the respect and support of all those fortunate enough to know him. Congratulations Alex!
