Time to Plan for Preschool!

Are you thinking about new learning opportunities for your child or wondering about some aspect of your child’s development?

The Sandwich Integrated Preschool is pleased to announce that it has openings in both its summer program and for the 2015-2016 school year and will conduct an annual screening on Thursday, March 19, 2015.

The Sandwich Integrated Preschool, an accredited program that has been in existence for over thirty years, is a program run by certified preschool teachers who partner with specialists and support staff to offer high quality preschool programming for families across the district. Daily learning experiences are intended to enhance development in the following areas: speech and language, fine and gross motor, socialization, cooperative play, independence in self-help skills, awareness of individual differences, art, music, and creative play. While the preschool’s summer program will be held at the Henry T. Wing School, the Sandwich Integrated Preschool will transition to its new home at The Forestdale School in September.

The Sandwich Integrated Preschool welcomes all three and four year olds looking for a comprehensive preschool program in a warm, child centered environment. Our screening will help us to get to know your child and has two purposes:

To identify children who may require special services before entering Kindergarten.

To identify peer models for the summer program and the 2015-2016 Sandwich Integrated  Preschool classes.  Enrollment is limited and all prospective students must be screened.  Peer models must be 3 or 4 years old at the time of screening.

The screening, which typically takes a total of 30 minutes, will assess your child’s abilities in skill areas such as:  speech/language skills, learning skills, motor abilities and social skills.

All screenings are by appointment only and parents should call Patricia Allietta, Preschool Coordinator of the Sandwich Integrated Preschool, at 508-888-1343  ext. 631 to make an appointment for their child or if you have concerns regarding your child’s development.

Children who will be of age to enter Kindergarten in the Fall of 2015 are not eligible for Preschool screening.
