“If Only…”

On June 29, 2015 at 6:30-8:00 at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, 311 Service Road, a free screening of “If Only,” a film about two teenagers who become addicted to prescription drugs will be presented, accompanied by a panel discussion. This important evening is designed for adults and children, aged 12+ and is sponsored by the Sandwich Waves of Hope from Addiction in collaboration with Sandwich Substance Abuse Prevention Committee.

“IF ONLY” has been awarded the Best Awareness Video 2015, and was produced by the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation.

Don’t allow the regrets of   “if only I knew” to be the final marker in your life.” The plot line of If Only, about two teenagers who become addicted to prescription drugs is intended to focus attention on a serious problem. The film and its message are supported by a parallel Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation co‐sponsored campaign Drop Them Off,

Parents and Teens (12+) are encouraged to attend this 35 minute informative documentary on the dangers of drug use. Panelists include:

  • Cheryl Bartlett, Executive Director of the Cape Cod Healthcare’s Cape Cod Regional Substance Abuse Prevention Initiative,
  • John Pierkarski (LICSW), Sandwich Substance Abuse Prevention Committee Co-Chair
  • Joe Dowick (MSW, LICSW), Sandwich Public Schools Social Worker, currently at the HT Wing School
  • and a representative from Gosnold AddictionTreatment Center in Falmouth. http://www.gosnold.org/

A brief Q & A session will bring the meeting to a close. Light refreshments are being provided by Spaulding.
