Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled in the STEM Academy for the afternoons of November 18 and 19 (12:15-2:15) and the evening of November 19 (6:00-8:00). Both days are early release days for students (11:09 dismissal).
Parents should register online at the home page of the STEM Academy website (sandwichstem.weebly.com). Parents should select a block of time and indicate the team for their child. Specific times will not be assigned. Meetings will occur in 10 minute intervals. Parents should be prepared to wait to meet with a specific teacher. However, each team of teachers will monitor the hallways and assist parents who need to speak with them. The evening session is often the busiest so we recommend selecting an afternoon session if possible.
This is an opportunity to discuss with teachers various strategies for assuring student success in STEM. Student progress can also be monitored by using Power School. There will be assistance available for any parent having difficulty accessing Power School. Teachers can also be contacted via email if a parent cannot attend one of these sessions.
It is one of the goals of the STEM Academy to offer a success experience for every student. A close working relationship between teachers and parents will help achieve that success.
