Sandwich saxophones 3-27-16

On Saturday, February 27 the Sandwich Arts Alliance presented a concert by the Cape Cod Sax Quartet. They invited saxophone students to participate in the concert.

We were so excited that 17 Sandwich Schools band students volunteered! A member of the Sax Quartet created an arrangement of Pachelbel’s Canon in D for the group to perform. Students practiced the music on their own and with me, then attended a clinic/rehearsal with the quartet.

Our student musicians performed with the group to open the second half of the concert and received a standing ovation for their performance. What a wonderful partnership between our students and the community.
