Sandwich is a town that loves to read, and the Sandwich Public Schools community is passionate about helping our students develop a love of reading.
On Friday September 16th, Mike Lupica, a beloved writer of a wide selection of books, is visiting the STEM Academy and Oak Ridge School to talk with our readers in grades 5-8. Many sports afficionados know Mike Lupica as a regular commentor on ESPN. The kids aren’t the only ones excited about his visit!
Students left school in June with their teachers encouraging them to read one of Mr. Lupica’s books over the summer. At both STEM Academy and Oak Ridge, we have supported this by providing a Special Mike Lupica Summer Book Swap – a bookcase stocked with multiple copies of a variety of titles that kids can borrow, read, and return for more. We know that when it comes to Mike Lupica’s books, no one can read just one!
There is a new book coming out in September, too. In fact the publication date of Last Man Out is a couple of days before Mike Lupica’s visit to Sandwich. Contact Titcomb’s bookshop to pre-order an autographed copy!
