Grateful for 20 Years of the Sandwich Partnership for Families with Lauren Melillo as its Leader!

Forestdale Principal Chris Dintino shared his thoughts on behalf of Lauren Melillo at the 2019 Employee Recognition Gathering….

Lauren and The Sandwich Partnership for Families and the Discovery Center have been housed at the Forestdale School for 4 years now. Prior to their location at Forestdale, Lauren’s group was located at the public Library downtown. Lauren’s passion has been to help provide families a connection to the community. Her programs offer a variety of free and fun activities in a safe environment for children of all ages as well as parenting workshops for adults. 

A few years ago Lauren started the summer food program which is based out of the Wing School. Now entering its 3rd year, families are provided a weekly pickup of of food and other necessities during the summer months. This past summer the program – “Savor the Summer” – serviced over 32 families.
