How was the School Budget determined? A 3-minute video clip.

Here’s a video clip from a Board of Selectmen meeting regarding the establishment of the FY16 School Department Budget. 

As described in this 3 minute excerpt from the 12/4/14 BoS meeting, the guidelines provided to the school superintendent and school committee for fiscal year 2016 local contribution included $250,000 designated for specific operational expenses. This amount represents the anticipation of a Memorandum of Understanding which would result in school district personnel maintaining the Wing complex. (Note: The Memorandum of Understanding is currently under consideration by the School Committee.)

This video also explains how the Board of Selectmen arrived at their budget guidelines for the Sandwich Public Schools Operational Budget for FY16.  The Operational Budget will be voted at the May 2015 Town Meeting.
