It’s Time for the Annual “Knight of Comedy” Fundraiser to benefit the After Prom!

Dear Sandwich Families –

The 2019 Sandwich High School After Prom Committee is planning this year’s After Prom Celebration being held on Saturday, May 25 from 11:30 p.m. – 5 a.m. following the Prom.

As most of you are probably already aware, SHS’s After Prom Celebration was established 20 years ago in 1999 following several tragic vehicular deaths between the time of prom and graduation that year.  The purpose of After Prom Celebration is to provide a drug and alcohol-free location for our children and students to gather and continue to create memories of this special time in their lives.  The evening is filled with entertainment, food, fun and prizes, and it’s free to all SHS Juniors and Seniors, whether or not they attend Prom.  We are very fortunate to be part of a community that embraces its young adults in this manner.

After Prom is a tremendous undertaking:  parents start planning this event in October and it costs approximately $16,000 – $20,000 each year.

The single biggest fundraiser for After Prom is the “Knight of Comedy” event, held this year on Saturday, March 23 at The Clubhouse at Sandwich Hollows.  Graig Murphy will headline the event and will be joined by two additional comedians. Graig is known for his quick witted act of everyday humor and his impressions of sports and television personalities.  Graig performs all over New England, Las Vegas ad Ft. Lauderdale and has opened for many of the nation’s top comedians.

 Tickets are $30/person (non-refundable) and include snacks, desserts, and a coffee bar.  In addition to being entertained by the comedians, the night includes a silent auction, raffles, and prizes to win.

This is an adult-only event and there is a cash bar.   Seating is at round tables with ten to a table.  Reservations for a full table of 10 or individual ticket purchases can be made by contacting Melissa Zylich or Sydny Shaw .

“Knight of Comedy” is an evening filled with laughter, friendship, and community – all in support of keeping our amazing High School students safe and entertained on Prom night.
