Celebrating Carolyn Hite ~ 25 years Nurturing and Teaching Students @ SHS

On Tuesday December 9th, the Town of Sandwich and the Sandwich Public Schools came together to honor their employees for their years of service. Dr. Ellin Booras, Principal at Sandwich High School, prepared these remarks about Ms. Hite.

When I was an assistant principal 12 years ago, I had the pleasure of working closely with Carolyn Hite.  As the teacher who works with the students with social and emotional needs, Ms. Hite is frequently working in partnership with administration to guide the journey and to frame the choices of young people.  Since those first years, I have been pleased to see Ms. Hite develop the same mutually productive relationships with everyone on our administrative team.

Carolyn Hite gleans well deserved pride in her work. Her style is caring, personalized and sprinkled with humor and honesty. She becomes the compass north for her students who rely on her steady guidance and flourish from her constant and caring support. Her success rate serves as testament of her consistency and impressive talents.

Congratulations and many thanks to Carolyn Hite for all she has done on behalf of students in Sandwich.
