Read Across America Day at Forestdale School

“You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read with a child.”

At Forestdale Elementary School, WE GROW READERS, and the students joined our beloved Sandwich Public Library and millions across the country for the annual National Education Association’s (NEA) Read Across America.  NEA’s Read Across America day, March 2, celebrates Dr. Seuss’s birthday and the joys of reading.
To celebrate the fun and value of reading, the Sandwich learning community participated in literacy events during the first week of March, inspired by Ellen Mantenfel, Oak Ridge Literacy Coach; the Forestdale Literacy Team and “The Cat in the Hat.”
